王校长元旦文艺晚会致辞
尊敬的各位来宾，全体教职员工，亲爱的同学们：
大家晚上好！
Honorific guests, teachers and staff, dear students:
Good evening!
新年的钟声就要敲响，时代的脚步跨越历史的长河。我们送走了硕果累累的2007，迎来了充满希望的2008，值此一元复始、万象更新的喜庆时刻，我谨代表江汉学校校委会向不辞劳苦、无私奉献的广大教职员工及你们的家人，向勤奋好学、不断进取的全体同学及你们的父母致以节日的问候和新年的祝福！向一直以来关心、支持我们的各级领导、董事会和所有对我们有所期待的朋友表示衷心的感谢！
The bell of new year is about to ring the past away, urging the steps of time to stride across the river of history. It is at the eve of 2008 that we celebrate the passing of 2007 which was full of brilliant success. At the renascent moment of jubilation, I am honored here, on behalf of the board of Jianghan School, to send to our hard-working teachers and staff and your families, and academically enterprising and diligent students and your parents my warmest regards and blessing. And I offer my sincere gratitude to all the superiors, the board of directors and friends holding expectations for us.
我们即将送走07年的最后一抹夕阳，迎来江汉的第二个新年。回首07，我们信心倍增。我们默默的付出，我们坚韧的承受，我们不经意的得到，我们不断的反思，我们悄悄的成长。我们创造了高考的奇迹，铸就了中考的辉煌。我们潜心课改，我们打造英语特色，我们不断的学习。我们有狼一般的团队和素质日益攀升的学生。我们的师生员工演绎了太多令人感动的故事。所以我们频频看到了我们周围人脸上的微笑。
In the last glow of the setting sun of 2007, we greet the second new year in Jianghan School. Looking back on last year makes us full of confidence in tomorrow. We exert ourselves silently; we undertake our commitment perseveringly; we introspect, and we prosper! We worked miracles in college entrance examinations and high school entrance examinations. We've been taking every chance to learn and devoting to the curriculum reform, characterizing our school with English teaching. Our team is like a herd of wolf and our students a thriving group. Too many affecting stories we have woven to get in return the smile beamed on each happy face I've seen everywhere.
低头看脚下的路，路正通向遥远的未来。
面对充满诱惑与挑战的08，我们豪情满怀。我们要做追梦的人，因为The word always makes way for the dreamer. 世界总是属于追梦者。
Looking at the road under our feet, we know that it winds its way down to the remote future.
Facing temptations and challenges in 2008, we are full of lofty enthusiasm, and ready to be dream chasers, for the world always makes way for the dreamer.
新年追梦，我们首先要学会感动。白岩松在“感动中国”中曾说：“一个人长久的不感动，就象一盆花长久不浇水一样，慢慢就会枯萎。”诚然，一个容易被感动，又能使别人感动的人，不是有一副健康纯洁的心态，就是有一副可亲可爱的古道热肠。常怀感动，你的人生就会阳光灿烂，充满诗情画意。生活、学习、工作在江汉，我们从来没有像现在这样幸福着大家的幸福，面对新年我们将会发现感动与幸福无所不在，生活中不是缺少幸福，只是我们不能少了发现幸福的心情；面对新年我们还要学会做一个快乐的人，在逆境中不忘欢笑，在困顿中不改其乐，这是强者的态度，智者的方法。08追梦，我们要为成功找方法，不要为失败找借口，我们要追梦，就要化不利为有利，变无奈为有奈。
Chasing dreams in the new year, we should learn, first and foremost, to be touched. As BaiYansong said at the Touching China Ceremony, "A man fails to be touched for quite a long time is like a pot of flower left long unwatered till it withers little by little." It is true that a man who is easy to be touched and able to touch others possesses either a purely healthy mentality or an adorable warm heart. Keeping the sense of affection all along, you will live an illuminated life which is sure to be filled with idyllic joy. Living, schooling and working at Jianghan, we've experienced others' happiness authentically that we never have before! At the advent of new year, we would find affection and happiness all around us and that life is never lacking in happiness but the moderate moods to discover it. Still to learn is how to be a happy person who would never forget to laugh during adversity. That is the attitude of the strong and the tactic of the wise. In 2008, we should develop strategies for success, not the excuses for failure. When chasing dreams, we ought to change disadvantages into advantages, and helplessness into helpfulness.
我们要加快节奏，提高效率，让我们多付出的汗水成为明天的投资。追梦的路上鲜花与荆棘并存，如果因为怕痛不愿伸手，那么再美的鲜花也只能是可望不可及。蝉之脱壳，蛇之脱皮，蛹之化蝶，无不经历了诸多痛苦与挫折。人只有在自强中才能坚强，在坚强中才能奋斗，在奋斗中才能成功，所以我们要牢记：有事做，赶快做，认真做。复杂的事情简单做，简单的事情认真做，认真的事情重复做，重复的事情创造性的做。可亲可爱的老师们：三尺讲台天下小，一笔画神州。四海烟云两袖收，满目俱风流。
We should speed up our pace and improve our efficiency. Let the efforts we give today become the asset of tomorrow. It was full of both applause and frustrations along the road leading to the dreamland. But the thorny flowers, no matter how beautiful it is, will be forever out of reach, if you draw back your hands for fear of the prick. The ecdyses of cicadas and snakes and the eclosion of chrysalises are all processes full of pain and suffering. Only self-reliance, fortitude and endeavour can bring about success. So what we need to remember is to know what to do and do it fast and seriously. Always bear in mind that complicated things should be done in a simple way, simple things in a serious way, serious things in a repeating way, and repetitious things in a creative way. My adorable teachers, Standing on the small platform with the whole world in mind, you draw the blueprint of future; Focusing on the historic events of mankind, you are the hero in nature.
武校长曾告诉我们，人生仅三天（昨天、今天、明天），三天经营好了，就是经营好了一辈子。把握三天，就是要背着昨天，踩着今天，面对明天。面对08追梦，我们要经常反问自己：过去总结了没有？现在的事落实了没有？未来准备好了没有？
Mr. Wu, the headmaster, once told us there were three days in a person's life, yesterday, today and tomorrow. If you could only manage them, you manage your whole life. To cherish and make full use of the three days is to learn from yesterday, live in today and plan for tomorrow. We should often ask ourselves if we've summarized the past, accomplished everything of day and got ready for tomorrow.
疯狂英语的创造人李阳在08年送给我们新年礼物中这样说：
无论以前发生过什么，
新的一天就是重新开始的机会。
不要去假设过去的事情，
而应该期待未来的可能性。
当你每一天都全力以赴，
那么每一天就是你的宝藏。
The founder of Crazy English, LiYang said in 2008 as he send new year presents to us:

When you live each day to the fullest,

同志们，朋友们，我们坚信：有各级领导为我们作坚强后盾，有全体师生的执着追求，有同学们的锐意进取，江汉学校的明天一定会更加灿烂辉煌。

Dear friends, we assuredly believe that with the support of superiors of all levels and the dedication of all the teachers and the enterprise of the students, the future of Jianghan School will definitely be brilliant and glorious.
